FAQ

Questions buyers and contributors ask first.

Is HumanoidLayer claiming ownership of third-party open datasets?

No. HumanoidLayer indexes, curates, normalizes metadata, and provides access workflows according to each dataset's license. Ownership remains with the original dataset owners.

Are all catalog datasets commercially cleared?

No. Commercial use depends on the original license and subset restrictions. Some entries are link-only until licensing is verified.

What makes this robotics-first?

Search facets, metadata, enrichment, and delivery formats are organized around robot embodiments, tasks, modalities, environments, licenses, and training formats.

Can buyers request private dataset enrichment?

Yes. The enrichment workflow can be used for public datasets or private data your team controls, with scope, QA, and output format defined before work begins.

Does every dataset submission receive a bonus?

No. Qualified early submissions may receive a $50 review bonus after verification. The bonus is not guaranteed and depends on originality, quality, relevance, licensing, and availability.

Can HumanoidLayer collect new data?

Yes. Buyers can request custom collection pilots for specific tasks, environments, embodiments, modalities, timelines, and output formats.
